Julia Rider has 29 years of experience as a litigator. Her practice emphasizes business and commercial litigation, including unfair competition, fraud, financial institution-related issues; professional liability; complex tort litigation, technology-related claims and insurance matters.
Professional Accomplishments
- Served as one of the lead trial counsel for defendants in In re San Juan Dupont Plaza Hotel fire litigation, one of the largest disaster cases ever tried
- Represented a major California utility in defense of an antitrust complaint brought by the State of California concerning Prudhoe Bay, Alaska natural gas
- Represented a major aerospace manufacturer with Congress and the Departments of Defense and State with respect to advanced fighter aircraft programs; the project included drafting position papers as well as oral presentations to members of Congress and the Defense and State Departments
- Represented major municipality in successful defense of one of the nation’s first anti-smoking ordinances
